James Broe is an artist, designer, and muralist currently residing in Grand Rapids, MI. His artwork focuses on the enigmatic relationship between humans and the world around them. By depicting imagery from the natural world such as plants, animals, water, fire, and smoke in an abstracted, minimal style, James debunks the dichotomy of the natural and the man-made to call attention to humans as a force of nature. James draws from personal research and experience as well as the religion, mythology, and folklore of cultures worldwide to better understand the evolution of humanity and the future that lies before us.
